Our Mission
Rising Village provides a safe, supportive environment where adults with IDD build confidence, develop practical skills, and engage meaningfully with their community, fostering independence and enriching quality of life.
Our Services
Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
Personal care, grooming routines, making beds, sorting and folding laundry, setting tables, vacuuming, household organization, time management, and effective communication for everyday independence.
Physical Fitness & Wellness
Adapted exercises, stretching, strength building, coordination activities, gardening projects, outdoor activities, and health education promoting physical well-being and mobility.
Financial Literacy
Money recognition, counting, budgeting basics, shopping skills, understanding bills, calculating correct change, responsible spending habits, and using ATMs safely.
Cooking & Nutrition
Meal planning, kitchen safety, following recipes, measuring ingredients, healthy food choices, preparing balanced meals, table setting, and proper dining etiquette.
Technology & Communication
Basic cellphone use (calls, texts, safety apps), computer skills (email, internet safety, job applications), using tablets, and navigating helpful technology for daily living.
Community Navigation
Learning to use public transportation safely, reading bus schedules, understanding routes, pedestrian safety, recognizing landmarks, and building confidence traveling in the community.
Community Engagement & Volunteering
Person-centered activities tailored to individual interests and goals, including community service projects, gardening and landscaping, local partnerships, and meaningful volunteer opportunities that build purpose and connection.
Social & Recreation
Group games, arts and crafts, music, movie days, holiday celebrations, talent shows, seasonal events, community outings, and building friendships in inclusive, engaging settings.
Vocational & Life Skills
Workplace readiness, following instructions, problem-solving, decision-making, task completion, job exploration, and community participation.
Program Details
Location: 4514 Beech Road, Temple Hills, MD – Centrally located on the Prince George’s and Charles County line
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Staff Ratio: Low participant-to-staff ratios ensuring individualized attention
Transportation: Assistance available upon request
Meals: Snacks provided; participants join in meal preparation activities
Provider Status: Maryland DDA Approved Provider
Our Approach
Each participant receives a personalized plan based on their unique strengths, interests, and goals – honoring their Person-Centered Plan (PCP). Our experienced, compassionate team uses hands-on learning in our fully accessible facility featuring dedicated activity areas, comfortable gathering spaces, and technology stations.
